Lutron lists common openness factors of 1%, 3%, 5% and 10% for sheer fabrics. These are not universal 5% steps and do not equal visible light transmission (Tv). Colour and fabric reference also matter; assess night-time privacy with the interior lights on.

Screen

Screen fabrics preserve views and filter light. Compare openness, colour and transmission for the specific fabric.

Translucent

Translucent fabrics admit light and obscure direct views; assess privacy with samples by day and night.

Blackout

Blackout fabric blocks light through the cloth. Overall darkness also depends on side channels and junctions.

Digital samples are indicative; screen colour does not replace a physical sample. Verify the reference, opacity and availability.

Technical concepts

Sheer / blackout blind: A sheer fabric filters light; an opaque blind restricts it. The final darkness also depends on side channels and gaps.
Scene / preset / macro: A scene stores several levels and positions. A macro combines actions, which can also run in sequence.

The exact reference, system generation and country determine compatibility. Global TV checks power, communications and availability before specifying a product. Catalogues retain their original language and edition.
